Meaning: O very ignorant living! Why are you so unpleasantly proud ? God is in your own heart-house, why don’t you enjoy his (union) ? O naive creatures ! The husband-Lord is dwelling near (within you), why do you go around looking for the outside world (forest etc.) ? ( If you want to see him, then put in the eyes of your knowledge) the charms of the fear of the Lord, adorn the love of the Lord .
A living woman is considered to be a part of marriage and attached to the Lord’s feet only when the Lord-husband makes love to her . 1 _
( But) what can even a living woman do if that living woman does not like Khasam-Prabhu ? No matter how much such a woman tries, she cannot find the palace of her husband . (The fact is that ) no matter how much a living being runs, nothing is achieved without the grace of the Lord .
If living beings remain engrossed in greed and pride (adik) with tongues, and are always immersed in maya (enchantment ) , then by these words one does not get the Lord . That living woman remained unlearned (who was intoxicated even in vices and still understood that she could please her husband and Lord ) . 2 .
( Those who have met the Lord-Husband, of course) go and ask those fortunate women that by what means they meet the Lord-Khasam, (They reply that) give up cunning and push, whatever the Lord does Accept it as good (on the forehead), attach your mind to the feet of the Lord, whose love you get name and wealth, do what the Khasam Lord commands, surrender your body and mind to Him, that’s it ! Use this fragrance (for life) . Sohag participles say that O sister! Khasam-Prabhu is found only by these words . 3 .
Khasam-Prabhu is found only when we remove self-conceit . Any other venture without this is a futile trick . Know the day successful (of life) when the husband-Lord gazes with the gaze of Mehar, (whose) soul-wife looks (at Mehar) as if she finds nine treasures .
O Nanak! The living woman who is dear to her lord, she is fortunate, she gets respect in the (world -) family . The one who is dyed in the color of the Lord’s love, the one who is intoxicated in steadfastness, the one who is engrossed in the Lord’s love day and night, she is beautiful, has a beautiful form, is intelligent and is called wise . 4 . 2 . 4 .
